Professional Development Grant

The Professional Development Grant provides funding to eligible Individual and Institutional Members as they undertake professional and personal learning opportunities to increase the overall body of knowledge of the Alberta museum community.

All Individual Members must be ratified and hold an active membership, before the date of submission, in order to be eligible for Professional Development Grants.

Please note: The following changes to the Professional Development Grant have been made for the 2021 - 2022 granting year to reflect the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 public health restrictions and to ensure the funds available have an immediate impact for as many members of the sector as possible.

Eligibility

  • Opportunities must be completed no later than ten months after the grant is awarded.
  • Retroactive applications will be accepted up to eight months after an opportunity takes place.
  • If you have unspent funds from the Use of Funds in Response to COVID-19 extensions from 2020, you must contact the Program Lead at grants@museums.ab.ca to determine eligibility.

Draft Review is available. Submit your application narrative through the website using the Grant Application Form submission button, located in the Members Only section.

Draft Review deadline: June 11, 2021, by 4.30 p.m.

Formal Application deadline: July 2, 2021, by 4:30 p.m.
